"Fishing in Spring, the Pont de Clichy (Asnières)" is an 1887 oil painting by Vincent van Gogh that depicts the Seine River in the spring, near the Pont de Clichy bridge in the Parisian suburb of Asnières. The work is a key example of Van Gogh's stylistic evolution during his time in Paris, showing his use of bright colors and varied brushstrokes, which were heavily influenced by his friendships with artists Paul Signac and Georges Seurat. He adopted Neo-Impressionist techniques, such as the use of small strokes of pure color, to maximize luminosity, creating a vibrant and dynamic scene of a fisherman in a boat.
