Composition with Blue and Red (1932) is a geometric abstract painting by the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, known for its use of black horizontal and vertical lines intersecting on a white background to create a grid. The grid is punctuated by a few pure primary color blocks, specifically red and blue, which create a sense of dynamic, yet balanced, harmony through contrasts of form and color. This work is a prime example of the neoplasticism art movement he helped pioneer.
