Composition with Grid 1 (1918) is a painting by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, created in the early stages of the De Stijl movement. The oil on canvas work, also known as Composition in Grey and Ochre, features a grid-like structure and is housed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. X-ray analysis has revealed the artist's use of an underlying grid based on the golden ratio, which he used to build the composition of rectangles.
