Narcissus (1597–1599) is an oil painting by Caravaggio, housed in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica in Rome. The painting depicts a scene from the Greek myth of Narcissus, showing the young man captivated by his own reflection in a pool of water, and showcases the artist's signature use of dramatic light and shadow known as tenebrism.
